Configure system for startup
The system needs some parameters for starting, changing default username and password.
Default username and password
username: admin
password: ferrumgate
change default admin user and password for security. Password policy defines min 8 characters, at least 1 upper, 1 lower, 1 number character.
Domain settings
- Private domain
Enter a private base domain like ferrumgate.zero, after activating dns splitting, you will be able to reach your applications with their names like mysql.dev.ferrumgate.zero which means [serviceName].[networkName].[privateDomain]
save config and relogin again.
Now click Network menu
you will see a network and a joined gateway to this network. Network is virtual and gateway is your installed machine. You can change their names.
Congratulations, you have just created your first virtual zero trust network.
Activate MFA
For admin users, using MFA with OTP is a good choise. Please activate MFA as below.
Give Access to DNS Resolution
System supports internal DNS resolution. Add authorization policy as below for giving access authenticated users to DNS service.
Install Client and Configure
Connecting to virtual networks needs client installation. Install appropriate client as below.
